I clicked on a PDF attached in Excel, and I got the error message "Cannot start the source application for the object," and it wouldn’t open.

 

At first, I thought the file might be corrupted, but when I saw that no PDFs were opening, I realized it was an issue with Excel settings.

 

There might be other solutions, but the main cause is that the Adobe PDF viewer is not installed on the system.

 

Just search for "Adobe Acrobat Reader download" on Google, install it, and the error will be resolved.
